Anouk Again

Anouk has sent a song to the Eurovision Song Contest selection committee. The singer said this on Thursday evening during the broadcast of RTL Boulevard.

Anouk says that she was approached by the selection committee for possible participation in the Song Contest. “After that, I immediately sent in a song”, says Anouk.

She has not heard anything from the committee yet. “They can never do that, because they do not want to favor people. I think that there are enough people who could and would possibly go”, emphasizes the singer. “As a songwriter, I also think that the best song should win. I also understand when people say: she has already been.”

Anouk already participated in the Song Contest in 2013 with the song Birds. She came ninth in the final in Malmö, Sweden. She was the first Dutch participant in nine years to reach the final.

The song with which the artist has now registered is a “fairly hard song and not a depressive ballad”. “They’re not birds falling off the roof,” she says, referring to her previous entry.

Anouk also said during the broadcast that she had submitted a song for this year’s edition together with rapper Latifah. But the selection committee chose the song Europapa by Joost Klein. “What I don’t think is nice is that you don’t just send an email saying: unfortunately, you didn’t get it.” Source: nu.nl.

Fake Organs

Pierre Kartner, also known as Father Abraham (with the Smurfs), thinks that Sieneke Peeters failed so badly at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 because she performed there with a fake organ.

Sieneke stood on the Eurovision stage with the extremely sweet song Ik ben Verliefd (sha-la-lie). It was one of the last Dutch entries in the ‘old style’. It was only in 2013 that a quality improvement was made at the Eurovision team of the AvroTros with Anouk at the helm.

But how is it possible that almost no one in Europe voted for Sieneke? “The performance could have been better,” complains Pierre Kartner, the writer of her song, in the VARA Gids. “The organ should have been a real Amsterdam organ. With an organ grinder and then Sieneke in traditional costume, with a cart full of cheese on stage.” This way you show the old-fashioned Netherlands in full regalia, says Pierre. “Continue that line completely, because that is the Netherlands!”

Because a real organ was too heavy for the glass Eurovision stage, AvroTros decided to send a fake organ. As a result, you missed the authentic feeling, Pierre thinks. What other mistakes have been made? “They could also have put me at the piano; they all know me from the Smurfs. ‘The father’ used to sometimes appear on the cover of the VARA guide. Not this time.”

Pierre still believes in his song. In fact, he thinks it’s a shame that everything has changed so much because of Anouk. “I think it’s a shame that we are drifting further and further away from that atmosphere in terms of choice. People want to be entertained. Like a circus, it should be a party. Why not ‘Sha-la-lie’?”

Voorbeschouwing

Gordon Heuckeroth heeft voor de Veronicagids van week 19 commentaar mogen geven aan de inzendingen voor het Eurovisie Songfestival in Malmö. Het blijkt nu dat Gordon en ik niet helemaal dezelfde (muzikale) smaak delen, maar dat geeft ook niets. Iedereen heeft zo zijn (of haar) eigen muzikale voorkeuren. Alleen met de inzendingen van Rusland en San Marino zijn we het eens dat het vast en zeker finale-materiaal is.

Verder moest ik wel lachen op het commentaar dat hij heeft op onze eigen inzending, ‘Birds‘. “Ik word hier zo depressief van. Het is geen goed liedje en het spijt me zeer, maar we gaan dit jaar wéér niet naar de finale.” Kijk, als je commentaar wilt geven, vind ik dat prima, maar zorg er voor dat je eigen act ooit een beetje op het songfestival hebt gescoord en niet, zoals in 2009 te Moskou, zelf een totaal van elf (11) punten weet binnen te halen.

Anouk Does ESC

Anouk gaat naar het Eurovisie Songfestival in het Zweedse Malmö. Dat maakt de zangeres woensdag op haar Facebook bekend.  In een zelfgemaakt filmpje vertelt Anouk dat ze van de week een bespreking heeft gehad met de TROS. ‘Dat verliep heel erg okay. Toen dacht ik: ik ga er nog heel even een nachtje over slapen. Dat heb ik gedaan. En toen ik vanochtend wakker werd dacht ik: ik ga het gewoon doen, ik heb er zin in.”

De TROS heeft het nieuws inmiddels bevestigd. Directeur Peter Kuipers zegt blij te zijn met de positieve uitkomst na de rumoer die er afgelopen tijd was over de mogelijke deelname van Anouk. ‘Als publieke omroep geven we gehoor aan de wens van onze achterban en zullen wij Anouk afvaardigen’ , aldus Kuipers in een persbericht. bron

Nu moet tout Nederland niet gaan denken dat we hiermee in het bezit zijn van een vrijkaart voor de finale, volgend jaar. Of dat we nu dan eindelijk gaan winnen. Niets laat zich zo slecht meten als het Eurovisie Songfestival. Dat Anouk ons land vertegenwoordigd vind ik wèl leuk! En wanneer Anouk in een van de voorrondes blijft steken, kan ze nog altijd zeggen ‘It’s too bad, but that’s me.’
